....its been awhile.

Yes it has! But not much new to update even though its been 6 days since my last post. This past week, I went back to work and boy, its been busy. We're gearing up for the holiday season with longer hours and tougher goals.
Oh yeah, we got our first Christmas Tree! Its pretty cool, one of those pre-lit kind that basically put themselves together. All we do is attach the main pieces and the branches are hinged so they just fall into place....lots quicker than the ones from when we were younger.
These last few days have been fun too, with Mel coming down with a cold. She's a trooper as always though and is fighting it pretty hard.
Congrats goes out to the Colts for their 10th win of the season! I was at work today, and only got to watch it sparingly, but what I did see was pretty good! The Pacers have been up and down, but seemed to get over that shalacking from the Bobcats last week.
Anyhoo, I hope to write more this week, but thats all I have for now....everyone, have a good week!

What a weekend!

What a great weekend! First of all, our out-of-town guest was my oldest brother Rob! The reason I had to keep it on the D-L is because he was in town to surprise my other brother, Randy for his 30th birthday surprise party. Not like Randy would read this (since no one knows about it yet) or that anyone would tell him. Just for my own joy, did I keep it a secret I guess.
Anyways, not only did Rob make it back for the party but so did my parents, who live in Florida now! It was awesome and Randy was absolutely clueless about the entire thing. I was responsible for getting Randy to the party and so I drove to his house to pick him up Saturday evening. He was under the impression that we were going to hang out with some buds of mine to watch basketball all night, then maybe hit up the bars. By the time we got to the Fox and Hound, about 40 people had been there for around an hour waiting on us! He was definitely surprised as he initially thought we were walking into someone else's party.
After drinks and some food at the Fox, Randy was given another surprise by Laura -- a limo to drive them around all night! They took the limo to LuLu's in Keystone and as we hung out there for a good 20 minutes (the place was kinda "uppity" and not alot of fun) then we headed down to Broad Ripple and met up at the Red Room.
The Red Room was pretty cool, even though the last time I had been there it wasn't that great. More upbeat/dance club this time around.
I thought the night was over when my brother proceeded to tick off one of the beer tub maids there and we all left. Of course, the limo took off without Rob, who was supposed to stay at Randy's for the night. We called and got them to come back and pick him up....then Dan, Mel & I drove our 30 minute drive home.
Once we had gotten home and relaxed for about 30 minutes, my brother called to tell me he didn't have a key for his house and that we needed to drive up and get them in (he had brought his garage door opener with him to get back in later that night -- before the whole surprise party kicked off). Mel & I drove up there (about another 30 minutes away.) We got them in their house and drove all the way back home.
By the time it was all said and done, we ended up falling asleep a little after 5am. Happy Birthday, Randy....what a night.

He's Here!

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday because our out-of-town guest arrived late Thursday night. He got here a little before midnight and we just hung out before crashing for the night. We then woke up yesterday to head out for the day. We took a trip to his alma mater, to which he hadn't visited in quite some time. Then we came back with enough time to tour the old high school campus and drive around Greenwood.

By the time we got home, we had enough time to relax -- but then headed off to meet Baller & G for the Pacers vs. Nets game Friday night. It was a great game for the most part. We had a "Super-Fan Bob Swerski" about 2 rows in front of us that was routinely screaming at Jermaine O'Neal to post up and everytime J.O. got the ball this particular gentleman proceeded to inform the Nets to "watch out" or to tell J.O. to "Dunk it on 'em". All this is great, except for the fact that we were 14 rows up....in the corner of the stadium...way up in the balcony. Not only could Jermaine not hear this gentleman, this guy was probably the last guy he WOULD listen to if he could hear him. On top of Bob Swerski, we had an Amish looking cheerleader who had two pom-poms the size of shrubs planted outside our house. She was on the opposite side of the arena and we're not even sure she had a seat. Because if she did, she didn't ever use it. She had the most energy out of anyone at Conseco jammin' to every tune they could play (by the way, we came to the conclusion that the music selections from the game were sponsered in part by Jock Jams Volume 3)....at any rate -- you go, Amish-Cheerleader girl.

After the win, we headed out to The Claddaugh (please someone give me the proper annunciation of that) and had a few brews. After a great time had by all, we proceeded to head home for the night.

(The vagueness in the past few posts as far as the Out-of-Town guest goes will become less vague in the next few posts and I'll explain everything soon....I promise.)

Catch up!

Ive been trying to get this turned on for the last few days, trying to learn everything. I think I have it figured out now so I'll catch you up on this week.

Monday- First day of my vacation from work. Didn't really do much....literally. It was a down day as I layed around, watched a movie, played with Nala, and waited for Mel to get home. Once she got home we headed up to Fox & Hound to watch the Colts vs. Patriots game. What a great time! Pat & Maya organized it and we had a great dinner, some cold brews, and watched a great game with friends. An awesome start to the vacation.

Tuesday- Mel took a personal day from work so we could get some stuff done. We grabbed lunch, ran a few errands, spent some paper at Meijer on groceries (since its been forever since our last grocery trip). Later that night, Big Dan came over and we watched Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring. I hadn't seen it before and Dan said he thought I'd love it. One reason I hadn't watched it is because its 3 hrs long, but once it got started, I did end up liking it alot! Now, I need to watch the other two....

Wednesday- Got out of the house at a decent time. Todays adventure was to find a Colts Jersey. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon, as I've been a fan for years, but I think its about time I buckled down and got a jersey. Mel thinks a shirt with just Colts on it is a better idea and after seeing the prices of the jerseys -- I think I agree. I ended up not getting one and I'll hafta continue to look around for a shirt. After that, I came home to straighten things up around the house for a special out-of-town guest coming Thursday night. Dan came over again and this night we watched The Incredibles -- a movie HE hadn't seen.
(You're probably wondering, whys Dan over so darn much? Well...this is his last week in Indy. He's moving to Chicago over the weekend and being on of my best friends since high school, we wanted to hang out as often as possible.)

Here we go.....

This is the first ever entry to my blog! I plan to offer all who wish to see, a view into the life of Mel, Pat & Nala. There will be exciting times, there will certainly be boring times, but hopefully everyone will dig it. If theres any suggestions as to what I should include here -- please let me know. In the words of Coca-Cola -- ENJOY!
